Evisa is a type of electric visa that apply and issue online by Vietnam Immigration Department. An e-visa for Vietnam is valid for 30 days only with a single entry only. Normally the applicants can submit by themselves, directly to the Vietnamese Immigration Department, but it is highly recommended to request from an agency as they will process on behalf of you and deal with any incidents that occurred (if any).

The fee paid for the Vietnam Immigration Department will not be refunded no matter whether your visa is issued or not. Therefore, you should sure the time and the port you will come to Vietnam.

Vietnam e-visa is also chosen for its convenience but it is available for those who enter Vietnam and stay in the country for 30 days. Please be noted there are citizens of 81 countries who are allowed to get a Vietnam e-visa only.

Apart from those limits, applicants can get Evisa and enter Vietnam via both airports, sea ports, or land ports which is much money-saving and suitable by those who love traveling through some Asian countries.

If you are from a country subject to Vietnamese visas, a Vietnam Visa On Arrival is one of the easy ways to get it. Sadly, you cannot get a Visa On Arrival in Vietnam in all ports of entry, only Vietnam International airports.

Furthermore, you cannot enter Vietnam and receive a visa at Vietnam airport if you don''t have approval letter already from the Vietnamese Immigration Department.

New Approval letter form to get visa Vietnam from 2023

Vietnam approval letter which is a document that allows foreigners to enter Vietnam is a letter issued by Vietnam Immigration Department that allows you to enter and exit Vietnam for a given time period (1 month single entry example). With the approval letter, you can pick up your visa upon arrival at one of international airports in Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Cam Ranh,  Cat Bi,  Phu Bai, Phu Quoc and Da Nang). Please note that without the approval letter, you will be denied on Board.

Usually, when it comes to immigration procedures to Vietnam, you will ask about an approval letter visa. But in fact, in order to get a visa at Vietnam airport, you must first make a document called: an approval letter before depart.

When you apply to get approval letter from the website, please prepare your scan passport, hotel booking confirmation and round-trip airfare, within 8 working days you will receive a letter by email. This letter will show your name, date of birth and passport number, especially the approval letter showing the time you will be granted a Vietnam visa. Previously, the Vietnam Immigration Department would sign and stamp red seal each page of the letter, but from 2023, the official letter will no longer sign and stamp the red seal but only stamp the Vietnam Immigration Department's signature, the signer's name, the time of signing in the bottom right corner of end page of letter.

When you arrive at one of Vietnam's International airports, you will see Landing visa or Visa on arrival. Please give your approval letter, $25 stamp fee and your passport to get stamp visa.

Vietnam has applied Evisa for citizens of 80 countries in the world.

 

The Government has just issued Decree 17/2019 amending and supplementing the list of countries with citizens to be granted e-visas and a list of border gates to allow foreigners to enter and exit by electric visas (Evisa). The new Decree takes effect for two years from February 1.2019.

Decree 17 adds citizens of 34 countries to the list, including:  Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, the Principality of Andorra, the Principality of Liechtenstein, Principality of Monaco,  Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Iceland,  Cyprus, Qatar, Fiji, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Portugal, Marshall Islands, Slovenia, Switzerland, San Marino, Serbia, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa, Brazil and Mexico. This extension applies an additional e-visa with citizens holding Hong Kong and Macau passports of China (not applicable to citizens bearing electronic ordinary passports). Currently, Vietnam has applied Evisa for citizens of 80 countries in the world.

Moreovers, the Decree 17 adds a list of 5 international border gates that allow foreigners to enter and exit via Evisa, including 3 land border gates, including: Tay Trang international border gate (Dien Bien province); Na Meo international border gate (Thanh Hoa province); La Lay international border gate (Quang Tri province) and 2 sea border gates, including Duong Dong port (Kien Giang province) and Chan May port border gate (Thua Thien-Hue province).

Vietnam has 8 airports, 16 land border gates and 9 sea border gates that allow foreigners to enter and exit by Evisa.

Eligible visitors can register for Evisa, processing time within 2 working days, Evisa valid for single entry, maximum duration of 30 days.

Last year, Vietnam applied visa exemption for three years for visitors from France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK. Citizens of those countries can enter Vietnam without visa within 15 days. In case, they want to enter into Vietnam under unilateral visa exemption in the next time have to wait at least 30 days from the last day exited Vietnam.

Vietnam slashes visa fees from 23 November

Vietnam will cut single entry visa fee for visitors from US$45 to US$25, a move that comes amid efforts to reverse a slump in foreign arrivals.

For a multi-entry visa valid for full one month to three months multiple entries, the fee will be US$50, down from the current US$95; kind worth more than 3 months to 6 months and the type of value on 6 months to 1 year stays is 95 USD and 135 USD.

The correction is stipulated at Circular 157/2015/TT-BTC on granting of visa for foreigners entering Viet Nam for tourism and study purposes.

The new circular maintains charges for more than three-month stay visa and raises costs for long-term visa.

Earlier, Viet Nam offered visa exemption for passport holder of United Kingdom (the UK), France, Germany, Spain and Italy within 15 days./.
